About Rouya Relief and Development (RRD)
Rouya Relief and Development (RRD) is a non-profit organization operating across multiple
countries, founded in 2018 by a group of civil society activists united by a shared commitment to
addressing the challenges faced by post-conflict communities. RRD is dedicated to building a
stable and just society where peace, human rights, and fundamental freedoms are upheld. Through
peacebuilding, resilience support, and humanitarian relief efforts, RRD seeks to foster cohesive
and tolerant societies where justice and equality prevail.
RRD has cultivated strong and diverse relationships with key local and international stakeholders,
including activists, grassroots movements, civil society organizations, and international entities.
Our Mission
RRD is driven by a commitment to empower communities through civic engagement, democracy
promotion, peacebuilding, and local development, with human dignity at the heart of our work. We
strive to unlock the potential of disadvantaged communities by enhancing reintegration and
resilience, focusing on empowering women, youth, and marginalized groups, while also providing
vital humanitarian relief where needed.
Our Approach
RRD focuses on institution-building by empowering grassroots organizations, civil society groups,
and individuals. We strengthen the capacities of local leaders, women, and youth while promoting
diversity and inclusion across cultural and social groups. Through our work, we aim to protect civil
and human rights, support peacebuilding efforts, enhance community resilience, and ultimately
foster equality of opportunity.
We adopt a human rights-based approach to women’s rights and gender equality, believing firmly
that democracy cannot be achieved without justice and equality for all.
Our Vision
RRD envisions a society where respect for and protection of fundamental human rights are
essential to building a stable, cohesive, and just community. We are committed to unleashing the
potential of disadvantaged communities to thrive, with a focus on peacebuilding, resilience
support, humanitarian relief, reintegration, and the empowerment of women, youth, and
marginalized groups.
